Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced WordPress Developer with a strong background in PHP and at least 2 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including hands-on custom design, creating custom WordPress themes and plugins, as well as maintaining and optimising existing websites. You will be a key member of our team, collaborating with designers and other developers to translate design concepts into robust, secure, and high-performing websites.Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Work with our design team to implement custom design mockups into functional, responsive, and visually appealing websites.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex website issues, including debugging code and fixing performance problems.
Ensure websites are optimised for maximum speed, security, and scalability.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components.
Implement and manage WordPress security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and new technologies in WordPress and web development.
Requirements
2+ years of professional, hands-on experience in WordPress development.
Strong proficiency in PHP and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
Expertise in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
Proven experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
In-depth knowledge of the WordPress core and its APIs.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
Familiarity with server-side technologies and environments (e.g., cPanel, command-line tools).
Experience in an Agile development environment.
