Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities combine general MIS duties with specific application to civil engineering projects:
Data Collection & Management: Collect, consolidate, and manage data from various project sites, including progress metrics, inventory levels, resource allocation (manpower, machinery), and financial expenditures.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports and dashboards (using tools like MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for project management, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as project timelines, budget adherence, and quality control.
Performance Monitoring: Analyze project data to identify trends, potential bottlenecks, cost overruns, and process inefficiencies, providing actionable insights to management.
System Integration: Collaborate with project managers and IT teams to ensure seamless data flow between engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, project management platforms) and the core MIS.
Data Integrity & Security: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of all construction and project data, implementing best practices for data management.
Site Coordination: Conduct periodic site visits (if required by the employer) to validate data and ensure accurate reporting from the ground operations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and improvement in data collection and reporting processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (B.E./B.Tech Civil preferred).
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Charts, Macros, etc.) is a must.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
Basic knowledge of database management and SQL is beneficial.
Exposure to project management software relevant to civil engineering is a plus.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for interpreting complex data and identifying patterns.
Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
